is truly original work Comelli Federico Ferrari, a young photographer of Brescia, based in Milan,
which opens November 24 in his exhibition Milano per square meter at Space Stendhal.
The 10 works on display are a tribute to Milan, at its essence and its hidden qualities. Some urban views of the city, fragmented and reassembled using a technique of post production, which seems to love the most vibrant shades, offer a amazing vision of Milan, dynamic and invigorating.
Through the beautiful compositions that mix photography and graphic work, we know a new city, more colorful and optimistic.

| NEEDLE AND THREAD |
Mq born of love and esteem that Frederick has to this city, is the his way to thank an unusual and highly significant, as the photographer himself says in this interview.
How did the idea for this project and what is its significance?
I've never had a simple relationship with Milan, especially in the early years, but I always thought that this city could offer a lot. So I started to study every angle to try to capture through the camera, which for me is the true spirit of Milan. After so many shots I thought were sterile, I got the idea of \u200b\u200bfragmenting reality and then move it in a vision closer to my feelings, focussing especially on some details that may escape our everyday look. Milan is gray and chaotic but the days are not so gloomy negative, is up to us to find the color in our reality . To give a sense of lightness unusual I finally tried to print on acrylic compositions, at first I thought it was crazy but when I saw the result I knew I had missed the point. This staff was born and raised with Giacomo Gallina, my agent, Federico MELEGARI, editor, and young people affected, not to mention Henry Zilli who handled public relations. The best things come when you have good people beside you, who believe in what you do!
Among the many places in Milan that have imprinted on your compositions, there is one in particular are you most proud of or that represent the most expresses what you wanted?
are particularly linked to the composition that plays Porta Genova which kicked off the whole project, but also to the Porta Romana, a true symbol of the marriage of my imagination and the art of classical Milan.
Tell us about the technique you use?
Start studying a place, stroll- without a camera around my subject, to try to capture its essence: a coffee in a bar next to one of the places of interest can be enlightening! And then get the shots, I run them at different times of the day and always different points of view, with optical and never the same way, so I pick the material which will be used for post production, which is the method by which I select and fragment the photographs. But at some point it's as if the work took shape on their own.
how long each will take you away?
I could not calculate an exact time. For the first two stages use about three full days, the good comes with the post production. To give you an example Porta Genova I have given birth in three weeks, needle and thread in ten days.
a photographer is a mission or a job? In practice you like to be defined as a photographer or an artist?
I do not like the very definition, I am now experiencing a very creative, certainly closer to art than photography, I feel I want to send a message, want to make people think about places that surround , is that this is a beautiful mission! When I saw this and felt like a job, start thinking and looking for a change. See my project as a work would be risky for me and for people who love my songs.
If I had to go through the same project elsewhere, which city would you choose?
I certainly intend to export your work in Milan and dedicate it to other cities. If I had to choose now, go to Istanbul, with the risk of never come back!
What criteria usually take in choosing subjects or places that might be of interest?
must send me something especially intense, then I have to hear them as places overlooked by most. Do not suggest, for example, Piazza Duomo, admired and loved by all, I prefer to Porta Romana, considered more as a place of passage as an outstanding example of architecture and history, which is instead.
What color has the world today as seen through your lens?
One of the most beautiful sentences I've read about me is "Comelli Ferrari sees a colored Milan where all others see gray. We live into a beautiful reality, I feel that too often many of us have a gray filter before my eyes, I managed to remove it, and I wish more people will get there .
plans for the future?
Leaving for another city to study, I would like to find sponsors interested in this project. I'm not going to stop me, I want to show the world the way I see the world. I'm starting collaborations with various consulates, but it is premature to talk about it a bit 'for a little luck' because it is always good not to anticipate too time.
